Closing Gift

Congratulations! You’ve executed a lease transaction, negotiated the terms and checked in the tenant. Now you’ve received that sweet sweet commission check and the deal is considered closed!

Now is the best opportunity to leverage your relationship of your client to help ensure future referrals and sales. 

One of the most memorable actions during a real estate closing is a customized closing gift that is delivered to your client at their new address.

The closing gift is optional but highly recommended. In it’s simplest and cheapest form, a hand written notecard can be used to build an emotional connect. In it’s most complex, we’ve seen custom gift boxes, art and furniture. 

Below are a few ideas for a closing gift:

The higher the purchase price, generally the more luxurious or unique the gift. Keep in mind who your client is. What items would stick out to them and be “remarkable.”

Besides your direct Client, it may be a good opportunity to give a gift to other parties involved in the transaction. Some other parties to consider include:

  • – Loan Officer
  • – Title Rep
  • – Listing Agent
  • – Referring party (within legal limits)

 

Even a thoughtful hand written note can go a long way in building your relationship capital. Going above and beyond doesn’t have to take a considerable about of time or money, but can increase your personal brand to new heights.
